HOMEPAGE REDESIGN
UNRWA is a United Nations agency mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestinian refugees. UNRWA, United Nations Relief and Works Agency has services that encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. The current UNRWA website was developed on a content management system that was no longer scalable to fit the needs of UNRWA growth. Having been operating for many years, UNRWA had a large collection of content and information was needed to be delivered to its audience in an open and transparent manner. In addition to content management, UNRWA needed to meet its sudden increase in web traffic to facilitate communication and online donation especially in times of emergency.
Project Brief
I initiated the project by assessing the problems, determining the solution and developing a plan to target the goals. The old site along with multiple resources was analyzed and restructured to be a new site with prominent user experience. I determined a framework in which the needs of each audience was a member type along with the needs of the UNRWA team. Through research, a new website layout and information architecture was built to clearly organize the agency's information to its various targeted audiences. The new architecture was also tailored to attract individuals to donate to UNRWA and increase conversion rates
